4. Christ's End - Our End
 Christ's End - Our End - Mt. 24:9-14
Jesus gives detail about the destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the world with the climax of His glorious return.
And yet there is more to be said than events before the end.  The words of Jesus reflect His passion and suffering.
There are words Jesus emphasizes again and again: (about 20 times)(in the later chapters) 1) Hour - "the hour has come". . . "the hour of darkness" . . . "this is your hour"; 2) Watch and pray - "that you enter not into temptation"; 3) Betray - "He is at hand that does betray Me". . .
"the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners."
  • Our Lord is saying that what happens to Him, the head of the church, is what will happen to His body - the Church.
