14. He Is Alive Forevermore
He Is Alive Forevermore - 1 Cor. 15:21-26

The death of Jesus brought great discouragement to the disciples and great satisfaction to Caiaphas and those who
condemned Jesus.  The only one nervous about the situation was the devil.  If he could keep Jesus in the grave until
the fourth day, His body would see corruption and all would be lost.

I.  So the devil attempted to prevent it by:
     1) Placing a huge stone to the entrance of the tomb
     2) Sealing the stone with mortar and put a Roman seal on it
     3) Having a Roman detail guard the tomb
         * To no avail - a) A blinding light, b) the guards fell as dead men, c) an earthquake shook and cracked the mortar,
            d) an angel excelling in strength rolled away the stone and Jesus got up and walked out - death and the grave could
not hold him.  He insulted the devil and demons  - "O grave, where is your victory? O death where is your sting?
I am He that was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore and I've got the keys to death and the grave.  For he
who believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live!"

        * Caiaphas as high priest was a Sadducee - didn't believe in resurrection, so he had to bribe soldiers to a different
           story.  Mt. 28:11-15
Even the disciples needed overwhelming evidence - Mk. 16:9-14
Last, but not least, Thomas is convinced - John 20:26-29  The Messiah is alive!

1 Cor. 15:21-26

II.   Death came by Adam, resurrection comes from the 2nd Adam vs. 21-22, Rom. 5:17
