Refried Pinto Beans

 

  • 2 c. pinto beans, dry
  • 3/4 t. paprika
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water, hot
  • 1/4 c. mild green chilies

 

  1. Soak beans overnight
  2. Cook on stovetop or in pressure cooker
  3. Blend in food processor or mash by hand
  4. Mix seasonings in water and add to mashed beans.
  5. Re-blend or stir adding hot water as necessary.

Yield5–6cups
