German Chocolate Style Glaze Frosting

 

  • 1/2 c. coconut or soy milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. maple syrup
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 1 tsp. butterscotch extract
  • 1/ 4 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 tbsp. shredded coconut

 

  1. Place 2 tablespoons of cornstarch in a pan with milk and stir to mix well.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients, except nuts and coconut, to the saucepan and heat to thicken while stirring continually.
  3. Stir in nuts and coconut.
  4. Spread over top of cake.
