2) Identity of The Remnant
.
 1) It comes at the end of earth's history - Rev. 12    Rev. 12:17

The persecution of the woman and the seeking to devour the "man-child" reveals the dragon as the enemy, a clear
       allusion, in principle, to Gen.3:15

       Gen:3:15
as the backdrop to understand Rev. 12
       Rev. 12:17
A) The woman - the church; B) Her seed - Christ, the "man-child"; C) The Remnant - the consummation
       of the church
Rev. 12:7-9 - Gives us a parallel of rebellion in heaven put down with what is accomplished by the death of Christ.
                              Jn. 12:31-33; Lk. 10:18
             Woman -
clothed with the sun
             Man-Child -
Michael and His angels, "her seed"
             Red Dragon -
his angels
             Remnant
The Dragon makes war in 1) heaven, 2) with the woman, 3) with the Man-child; and 4) with the Remnant
The center of the Book of Revelation is seen in Rev. 12:10,11

The dragon is "cast down"
