STANDING FIRM IN A FOREIGN LAND - DANIEL 1

I.   The Circumstances - Daniel 1:1-7
     A.  Foreign king invades vss. 1,2
     B.  He takes temple articles - he desecrates and defiles the temple vs. 2 (a symbol of the antichrist)
     C.  He takes captives - vss. 3,4
     D.  He orders re-education - vss. 4-7
           1) In language and literature
           2) In diet
           3) In devotion - given Babylonian names

II.  Daniel's resolve - vs. 8
     A.  Some compromise under these circumstances
     B.  Some become bitter and revengeful
     C.  Some become more determined to be faithful

III.  The Test - vss. 9-14
     A.  Something to be said of a vegan diet, even in 10 days - vs. 12
     B.  Bible truth and trust in God will be tested
     C.  We will have to make a stand

IV.  The Results - vss. 15-21
     A.  Healthier
     B.  God gave wisdom and the gift of prophecy - vs. 17
     C.  Even the king affirmed their wisdom - vs. 20
